What you will need:

- color cardboard (or construction paper)

- scotch tape

- pipe cleaners (4)

- black pencil

- scissors

- white glue

Instructions:

- Draw and cut a heart in a red cardboard.

- Draw and cut 2 mittens and 2 shoes in a cardboard the color of your choice.

- Cut two eyes and a mouth in a white sheet of paper and glue them on the heart. Draw the nose.

- Bend a pipe cleaner into a "V" shape and glue it at the back of the heart to obtain an arm and a leg with the pipe cleaner. Repeat the same operation for the other side (arm/leg). Fix with scotch tape.

- Fix the shoes and the mittens (thumbs up) onto the pipe cleaners with a piece of scotch tape.

- Tie one red and one green pipe cleaner by twisting their ends together. To make the flower, roll the red pipe cleaner around a cone if you have one (I used the tip of my white glue container), or try to form a cone by rolling the pipe cleaner. Make a leaf on the stem by modeling the green pipe cleaner. Cut the surplus.

- Make a line of glue on one of the mittens and glue the flower to it. Put a little bit of glue on the thumb and fold it to make it look like the Heart Shape Man is holding the flower.

Alternatives :

You can replace the flower with a small piece of paper on which you could write a short message (for example: I love you Mommy) or with an envelope in which you can put a letter or a picture of yourself.
